    Senior Human Resource Management Officer

    Requirements for the Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, an applicant must :


    i. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Human Resource Management or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from recognized Institution;
    ii. Have Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management;
    iii. have served for a minimum five years as a Human Resource management Officer in an organization preferably in the Public Sector;
    iv. be a member of IHRM or other relevant HR Professional body;
    v. have a thorough understanding of employment and labour laws;
    vi. have a certificate in computer applications from a recognised institution
    vii. Have demostratable experience in use and application of human resource management information system (HRMIS)

    NOTE

    Those whose first degree is not a in Human Resource Management must possess Post graduate qualifications in Human Resource Management.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The Officer will be responsible to the Human Resource Manager. Duties and responsibilities of this post include:-

    i. Assisting in formulation and development of Human Resource Policies in line with the Commission’s Vision and Mandate
    ii. Verifying information relating to recruitment, appointment, transfers and deployment.
    iii. Maintaining human resource database and accurate personnel records
    iv. Being responsible for induction and orientation programmes for new staff
    v. Assessing Training needs for all cadre of staff and preparing training projections and plans
    vi. Co-ordinating and evaluating training and development of all staff
    vii. Managing the payroll by ensuring that all staff payments are up to date to maintain accuracy and consistency.
    viii. Assisting in designing and implementing performance processes and talent management programs
    ix. Participating in preparation of human resource work plans and budgets
    x. Conducting exit interviews for staff to ensure alignment of process and procedures
    xi. Managing staff leave days and generating monthly reports on utilization of leave days.
    xii. Assisting in preparation of Management Reports and assist in the implementation of human resource management decisions.
    xiii. Advising staff on all aspects of Human Resource management to ensure awareness of staff on the expectations of the Commission.
