Chief of Party at Chemonics International

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in organizational capacity development, monitoring and evaluation, international development, social studies, business administration, economics, or another closely related field; an additional five years of relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of a master's degree
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant, senior-level professional experience managing the implementation of organizational capacity development programs in the areas described above
• Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience managing and supervising a team working on organizational capacity development activities
• Minimum of five years of experience in sub-Saharan Africa; experience in East Africa, especially in Kenya, Djibouti, Tanzania, or Zambia, preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with intergovernmental or government representatives and other stakeholders, particularly at the regional level
• Experience managing an activity of similar size and complexity
• Demonstrated experience addressing development issues facing the greater East Africa region, including regional integration, trade, governance, environment, and health issues; expertise in providing organizational strengthening assistance to complex NGOs and government organizations
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• Fluency in English
