Machine Operator at Kenya Tea Development Agency (MS) Ltd

Reporting to the Foreman Fabrications, the successful candidate will be responsible for effective machining works, machine/plant operation at the workshop;

Machine Operator Job Responsibilities

• Operating machines as per standard procedure;
• Monitoring machine conditions and escalating any repair issues;
• Monitoring and maintaining safe and clean working conditions;
• Taking part in safety drills and other regulatory procedures;
• Interpreting of production drawings;
• Carrying out machining work including turning, milling, gear cutting and shaping;
• Finishing operations on products e.g. threading, tapping and deburring;
• Maintaining cleanliness and order in the working environment;
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications for the Machine Operator Job

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Production) /Plant/Craft Technician III;
• A minimum of Two ( 2) years relevant working experience;
• Certificate of good conduct;
• Punctual, diligent and meticulous with close attention to detail;
• Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice;
• Must demonstrate ability to execute work assigned with minimum supervision;
• Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams;
• Must demonstrate ability to multitask;
• Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant knowledge;
• Must have the ability to communicate for both written and oral communication;
• Must be able to work under pressure;
• Must be a flexible person, who is willing to learn and able to work flexible hours to achieve goals;
• Must be able to deliver targets, and a good planner who pays attention to detail;
• Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages.
