Job Title: Senior Officer, Methods and Standards (Level 6)

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Methods and Standards, the job holder will be responsible for the sampling frames.

Senior Officer, Methods and Standards Responsibilities

• Extracting data on indicators of interest from relevant reports;
• Compiling available international recommendations and best practices for data quality;
• Updating the existing National Data Quality Assessment Frameworks for Kenya;
• Reviewing indicators, data collection instruments and procedures used across National Statistical System;
• Producing regular statistical products and services quality reports;
• Reviewing different statistics across the National Statistical System;
• Updating compendium in accordance with international standards; and Creating metadata dictionary.
• Reviewing methodologies used in surveys
• Updating indicators and data collection instruments;
• Documenting the data collection procedures used in national statistical system;
• Updating databases on official statistics;

Qualifications for the Senior Officer, Methods and Standards Job

• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
• Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency in statistical packages such as SPSS, STATA. SAS, R, E-views, CSpro ;
• Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment;
• Must meet the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
