Urban Planner at Vihiga County Government

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible to the Deputy Director for all matters related to urban planning control, monitoring and enforcement,
• Responsible for advising stakeholders on all matters related to urban planning and development control;
• Conduct approval of development applications on delegated powers of the Director
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Director Lands

Requirements

• Be a Kenyan citizen
• Possess a bachelor Degree in Urban Planning and /or Urban Management/Urban Development
• Eligible for registration by Physical Planners Registration Board
• Must have worked as a planner for a minimum of 3 years.
• Have demonstrated professional competence and administrative ability in the line of duty;
• Satisfy the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010;

ALL candidates MUST meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity and will be required to produce clearance/compliance certificates from the following agencies:

• Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
• Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
• Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
• Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
• Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Good Conduct).
