Web Developers at SBM Bank

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Data Analytics, the Web Developers will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining websites for SBM Group. The job incumbents will also be responsible for developing and implementing a usability testing process to ensure that the websites always meet the minimum usability and performance requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Website and software application designing, building, updating, or maintaining
• Using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications and digital media
• Developing or validating test routines to ensure compatibility with all browser and device types
• Editing, writing, or designing website content
• Maintaining an understanding of the latest web applications and programming practices
• Back up files from Web sites for recovery purposes
• Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards and is always compatible with latest browsers, devices, or operating systems
• Determining user needs by analysing technical requirements
• Developing and implementing a usability testing process
• Enabling complete web analytics on website to understand user experience
• Optimising websites for better visibility on search engines
• Slice design layouts (PSD, PNG) into responsive HTML format for use on websites
• Use scripting to create website animations and effects
• Front-end and back-end web development

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor Degree in Web development or any related qualifications
• Proficient in PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS
• Proven professional experience in MySQL, Oracle DB or MS SQL
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of content management platforms
• Ability to translate business needs into user-friendly solutions
• Experience developing in Drupal
• Knowledge of programming language and technical terminology
• Proven professional experience and adherence to the principles of Test Driven Development
• 3rd Party Integrations using APIs
• Knowledge of Linux, Microsoft OS
• Dedicated team player
• Excellent mastery of both written and verbal communication
• Ability to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them
• Ability to solve complex problems
