    Senior Assistant Gis Officer

    REF: KURA/S/SAGISO/18/6 - JG 7

    An officer at this level will work under direct supervision of the Assistant Director (Survey)-Geoinformatics Services.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Implementing strategies to align the geo-information business of the Authority with Geo-information technology and overseeing GIS Operations;
    • Maintain in-house GIS application programmes;
    • Undertaking short and long term strategic planning of Geo-information systems (GIS); and
    • Conducting Geo-Information research.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Have a Higher Diploma in any of the following fields: Geographic information system (GIS), Land surveying, Cartography or Photogrammetry and remote sensing or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in a similar position in the public service or in the private sector.
    • Be proficient in CAD software, ArcGIS applications.
    • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
    • Show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Shortlisted candidates will be expected to present during the interview, copies of clearance certificates from the following institutions/organizations;

    • Kenya Revenue Authority;
    • Higher Education Loans Board;
    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
    • Criminal Investigations Department;
    • Credit Reference Bureau.
