    Category Developer Home & Appliances

    What’s this job all about?

    As a Category Developer at Jumia, you will be expected to have the ability to design and execute cross-sell and up-sell strategies to drive revenue into existing customers.

    The successful candidate will identify valuable partners, negotiate and close impactful deals, commercial and strategic business agreements, and manage the growth of resulting partnerships to drive revenue growth for Jumia and its vendors.

    The main challenges are described as below:

    Main Responsibilities

    • Engage with the existing sellers on Jumia

    • Enhance the vendors experience & vendor satisfaction
    • Provide regular (weekly & monthly or as required) detailed activity reports.
    • Develop and grow the category
    • Organizing key commercial events such as Black Friday and Jumia Anniversary
    • Always protecting and improving the customer and seller experience
    • Building a very friendly user interface for our vendors and our customers by being deeply involved in all our Tech developments
    • Work closely with the vendor support team & after sales to facilitate the vendor operations.
    • Coordinate with other teams within the organization to ensure good operations.
    • Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Attention to details.
    • Ability to work hard and handle stress.
    • Good problem solving skills.
    • Prior industry experience in FMCG, tier 1 retail groups, top banking & consulting companies is a plus.
    • Top Engineering, Business Schools & Universities (top 5 of your field for your country)
    • Proficiency in MS Office and google tools
