Nutrition & Dietetics at Homa-Bay County Public Service Board

Job Details

• Conducting nutrition assessment, counseling and support to clients in various existing programs;
• Carrying out child growth monitoring and promotion activities;
• Conducting routine nutrition assessment for expectant women;
• Assisting in lifestyle disease prevention and management programs;
• Providing nutrition services in both out-patient and inpatient departments; monitoring preparation of therapeutic feeds;
• Implementing hospital menus; carrying out micronutrient supplementation; Following up on clients;
• Promoting maternal, infant and young children nutrition programs;
• Promoting baby friendly hospital &community initiatives;
• Carrying out nutrition education and demonstrations to patients/clients in health facilities & the community;
• Promotion of dietary diversification; collecting nutrition data and preparing monthly reports;
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor

Qualifications

• Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition & Dietetics from a recognized Institution
• Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution
• Registration by the Kenya Nutritionists & Dieticians Institute (KNDI) and a valid practicing license.
• Satisfy the requirements of chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya
