Accountant at Africa Talent Contours Limited

Our client is in the airline industry and aims at promoting the development of safe, reliable, economical, and efficient air transport services to, from, within Africa and to foster closer commercial and technical cooperation.

 Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position.

Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager the accountant will undertake the following roles and responsibilities:

1. Verifying approval of invoices and vouchers posting for payment both in the online banking and Sage Pastel system.
2. Ensuring all payments and vouchers are captured in Sage pastel system before processing payment.
3. Invoicing all customers as per procedure and on time.
4. Ensure chronological filing of payment vouchers, statutory payments, and Bank statements as per procedure.
5. Ensure that Receivables and payables are accurate regularly.
6. Follow up on claims and payments with partner institutions.
7. Coordinating insurance of all assets of the organization.
8. Issuance of cheques to service providers and staff.
9. Petty cash and cash balance management.
10. Work Closely with other stakeholders for successful internal and External Audit
11. Any other duties as may be assigned by the management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or accounting
• Certified Public Accountant of Kenya(CPAK) and registered with ICPAK
• 6-10 Year experience in a busy private and or public institutions
• Excellent IT skills particularly in excel, windows and other   Microsoft office applications.
• The Candidate must be very good/excellent in SAGE PASTEL software application.
• A team player and requiring Little or no supervision.

• Excellent communication skills
• Highest level of integrity.
