Adhesive Factory Operator at Twyford Tile

About the Role

• We are seeking an experienced Adhesive Factory Operator to support the production of adhesive products through safe and efficient operation of mixing, blending, dosing, processing, and packaging equipment.
• The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working in an adhesive, chemical, coatings, construction chemicals, paint, or similar manufacturing factory, with practical knowledge of production processes and industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate adhesive production equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with approved production procedures.
• Carry out the mixing, blending, dosing, dispersion, and processing of raw materials according to approved formulations and production instructions.
• Accurately measure, weigh, and add raw materials according to specified quantities and production batches.
• Monitor production parameters including mixing time, temperature, viscosity, speed, batch quantity, and other relevant process conditions.
• Operate and monitor mixers, agitators, pumps, filling machines, weighing systems, and other production equipment.
• Ensure the correct raw materials are used for each production batch.
• Conduct in-process checks and promptly report any abnormalities in product consistency, appearance, viscosity, or other quality parameters.
• Work closely with Quality Control personnel to ensure products meet required specifications.
• Record batch numbers, raw material usage, production quantities, process parameters, and other required production information accurately.
• Identify equipment abnormalities, process deviations, material shortages, and production issues and report them to the supervisor.
• Assist with equipment cleaning, changeovers, routine inspections, and basic operational maintenance.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and identification of chemicals and raw materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping within the production area.
• Follow all chemical handling, PPE, occupational health and safety, and environmental requirements.
• Minimise material wastage and support efficient utilisation of raw materials.
• Assist with stock verification and reconciliation of raw materials used during production.
• Support investigations into production defects, batch deviations, and quality issues.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Maintenance, and EHS teams.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Production Team Leader or Production Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• KCSE or equivalent.
• Certificate or Diploma in Chemical Technology, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Production, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Direct experience in an adhesive, construction chemicals, coatings, paint, sealant, or similar chemical manufacturing factory is strongly preferred.
• Practical experience operating industrial mixing, blending, dosing, or processing equipment.
• Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and industrial raw materials.
• Experience working with batch production processes will be an added advantage.
• Ability to read and follow production instructions, formulations, batch sheets, and operating procedures.
• Experience with basic quality checks and production documentation is an advantage.

Preferred Industry Background

• Candidates with previous experience working in adhesive, construction chemical, coatings, paint, sealant, or related chemical manufacturing factories will be strongly preferred.
• Relevant industry experience may include companies such as Sika, Kalemim, Crown, Dura Coat, Izomix, Eurafix, or other manufacturers of adhesives, coatings, construction chemicals, and related products
