As a member of the Global Secretariat, support the Country Directors in FOLU’s country platforms in Africa (currently FOLU Ethiopia and FOLU Kenya) to enable the successful delivery of planned activities.
Coordinate with the country platforms to help address the operational and strategic challenges assisting with problem solving and supporting the progress of delivery
Work closely with the Funds Management Team in the Global Secretariat to ensure timely. disbursements, accurate forecasts and the appropriate allocation of resources, while also assisting with the reporting of country platform financials as needed.
Support the country platforms with their resource mobilization efforts when needed, working closely with FOLU’s Senior Development Manager.
Assist in ensuring that countries are represented in global fundraising activities including helping to develop coalition-wide proposals and participate in discussions with programmatic donors.
Ensure that country platforms are kept informed about the activities and priorities of global teams and vice versa. This includes working with the Global Secretariat's Knowledge Generation, Communications Team, Impact and Partnerships Teams.
Work with colleagues in the Countries Action Team to help with the scale up and expansion of FOLU’s country platforms.
About you
You should have solid stakeholder management experience with different levels of seniority and being the point contact person. Previous experience coordinating work within a coalition involving different sector actors is critical. The position holder should be able to demonstrate experience in developing concepts and proposals for resource mobilisation efforts. Knowledge of food and land use systems will be important combined with the ability to facilitate capacity building sessions with partners.
You should have excellent project management skills as this position will coordinate multiple engagements across the continent. The ideal candidate should demonstrate capacity to work in a multicultural setting and experience with project management processes and tools.
An education background with a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Environment Studies/Science, Agriculture/Food Systems, international development, Economics or related field is required.
