    Agricultural Officer I (Agribusiness Officer)

    Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Coordination of Agribusiness and market development;
    • Coordinate agricultural business planning and entrepreneurship development;
    • Formulate and advise on strategies for value addition;
    • Develop strategies to promote investment in economically viable agro-industries;
    • Develop the capacity of farmers associations to identify sustainable agro-based economic opportunities;
    • Coordinate documentation and dissemination of information on agricultural inputs;
    • Collect, analyze and disseminate market information; 
    • Promote development of commodity value chains;
    • Develop business plans and models in ago industry and value addition enterprises;
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders in agricultural market infrastructure;
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders in development of farmer friendly credit products;
    • Promote use of appropriate quality inputs and collaborate with regulatory institutions involved in farm input quality control;
    • Follow up and backstopping on agribusiness related activities;
    • Preparation and implementation of work plans and budgets related to agribusiness; Coordinate the organization of field days, exhibition, shows and trade fairs;
    • Prepare periodic reports in agribusiness.

    Requirements for Appointment 

    • Kenyan Citizen
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields; Agribusiness/Agriculture/Agriculture Economics/ Agriculture Extension/ Agricultural Education or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
    • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    All applicants are expected to present the following additional documents during interviews for purpose of complying with the provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution

    • Tax compliance certificates
    • Clearance from HELB where necessary
    • Clearance from the Ethics and anti- corruption commission
    • Clearance from the CRB.
    • Certificate of Good Conduct from the police
