Assistant Director Disaster Management at County Government of Nandi

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in disaster management or any other equivalent certificate from a recognized institution;
• A Masters degree will be added advantage.
• iMust have shown merit and held leadership and administrative function within a unit for at least 5 years;
• Must have shown a good track record in emergency response and management;
• Must have knowledge in public participation and community awareness and sensitization;
• Must have basic knowledge on first aid;
• Shortlisted candidates must Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinating, managing and supervising the general administrative functions related to disaster management unit
• Develop duty rosters for the duty officers
• Ensuring effective service delivery in the unit
• Coordinating disaster recovery and rehabilitation for victims of a disaster eventCoordinating developing fire safety training and drills to empower county establishment and
• the community
•  Facilitating and coordinating citizen participation in the development of policies and regulations related to disaster management in the county
• Ensure quick response by the unit in any emergency
• Act as a duty officer as part of the 24 hours duty system, responding as they may arise
