Bachelors’ degree in any of the following disciplines: Gender Studies, Gender and Development, Sociology or any other relevant Social Science from a recognized institution
Registered practitioner with Kenya National Association of Social Workers, & Kenya Counseling Association
Certificate in senior management course which is not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution or
Membership to a related professional body
Served in the grade of Principal Gender Officer or equivalent and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum of three (3) years
Possess Leadership skills, Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Organizational skills, Ability to work under pressure, Negotiation skills, Ability to build and lead cohesive teams, Problem solving skills
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and integrity.
Job Description
Administers and supervises the staff in the section;
Ensure strict compliance with all financial budgetary and procurement procedures;
Coordinating collection and development of gender disaggregated data and management information;
Implementation of gender policies and programs in the county;
Facilitating gender mainstreaming activities in the county;
Provide input on gender in the medium-term expenditure frame work;
Engaging with partners and stakeholders on gender related matters;Undertaking sensitization /awareness creation on gender programs and projects;
Monitoring gender and sexual and Gender based violence programs; and
Preparing monthly, quarterly, bi annual and annual reports on gender programs and projects.
