Kitui County is located 170Km to the South East of Nairobi City. It covers an area of about 30,496 km2. It borders Machakos and Makueni Counties to the West, Tana River County to the East, Taita-Taveta County to the South, and Embu and Tharaka- Nithi Counties to the North.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, one must have:
Be a Kenyan Citizen;
Served in the grade of Principal Records Management Officer or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science/Records Management or in any of the Social Sciences from a recognized institution;
a Master’s degree in Information Science/Records Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; and
Shown outstanding professional competence and administrative ability in the management of the records function.
Duties and Responsibilities
Initiation, development, interpretation and implementation of records management policies, guidelines and procedures;
Training and career development of Records Management Staff and their deployment and utilization;
Efficient and effective management of registry services;
Preparation and submission of budget estimates for registries;
Initiation and disposal of files, documents and other records in accordance with Government regulations; and
Supervision, guidance and development of staff working under him/her.
