Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Sociology, Social Work or related field from a recognized institution;
Certificate in a Senior Management Course from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
Served for a minimum period of twelve (12) years and currently serving at the
grade of Principal Youth Development Officer, JG N and above or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service;
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
Possess Leadership skills, Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Organizational skills, Ability to work under pressure, Negotiation skills, Ability to build and lead cohesive teams, Problem solving skills; and
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and integrity.
Coordinating staff performance management, training and development;
Assigning staff additional responsibilities and tasks where necessary;
coordinating the development of guidelines to strengthen linkages and absorption of youth into employment, internship and volunteerism;
Ensuring budget preparation and procurement plans are done in a timely manner;
Ensuring adherence to budget timelines and proper implementation of the procurement plan; and
Any other duties that may be assigned by the Director Youth Affairs.
