    Assistant General Manager Bancassurance

    Job Summary:

    The job holder will be responsible for formulating the strategy for I&M Kenya Bancassurance proposition and proactively managing the  business plans as well as  lead and manage planning of annual business targets and achievement of Bancassurance profitability through driving the financial performance of I&M Kenya .

    Key responsibilities:

    The Incumbent will report to the Executive General Manager Bancassurance and will be responsible for:

    • Regularly meeting with the I&M Kenya Board members, providing timely and comprehensive information to keep them informed.
    • Fostering open communication with the Board and committees, sharing risks, issues, and successes across the insurance activities.
    • Keeping the Board informed about entity performance, market opportunities, and developments affecting the business.
    • Visiting  corporate customers, branches, and teams nationwide to nurture existing relationships and cultivating new business prospects.
    • Regularly engaging with external stakeholders like Insurance Companies, Regulatory Authority, and more for business and customer support matters.
    • Developing and communicating the strategic framework for resource allocation and policies across the group's insurance agencies.
    • Creating an annual strategic plan for Board consideration, outlining growth directions and policies for the Corporation's profitability.
    • Leading and motivating team members, empowering them for growth through periodic training and development sessions.
    • Recruiting and retaining high-performing team members, focusing on talent management and career development.
    • Ensuring a positive work environment, overseeing compensation, performance assessment, and leadership development.
    • Ensuring self and direct reports complete required learning hours through E-learning, internal, and external training.
    • Promoting a corporate culture emphasizing ethics, integrity, and social responsibility. Representing the organization at events and conferences as a spokesperson.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science or related field

     Professional Qualifications

    • Member of a relevant professional body
    • ACII or an equivalent professional qualification will be an added advantage

    Experience

    • Over Twelve (12) years’ relevant experience with over five (5) years in management in a similar organization.
