    Associate Product Manager, Living Labs

    We are seeking a creative, passionate design and product development professional seeking to grow their career while making a difference in people’s lives. This role will work with Design and Innovation Leads, Design and Innovation Specialists, the Project Coordinator and the Lead Product Manager on a variety of rapidly iterative projects focused on co-creating, testing and deploying solutions to improve delivery of primary health care services and the outcomes associated with those services. We are looking for someone who is ready to jump in to a fast-paced project and fearlessly share and test ideas. While this position sits within the Living Labs Kenya project, the role includes providing support to other PATH country offices in the region.

    Specific duties and responsibilities:

    • Leads cooperative work to co-create, produce, and deploy innovative solutions through technical oversight to a portfolio of projects/ activities within the region.
    • Leads capacity building efforts for other PATH country offices within the region through training, mentorship, supervision, and technical assistance
    • Managing partnerships and collaborations around the different projects that work with the Living Labs team.
    • Demonstrates leadership within the team and supports allocation of work equitably across groups or individuals for maximum benefit and optimal results
    • Supports efforts to create a safe and stable work environment for team members.
    • Facilitates continuous review of implementation of knowledge management guidelines
    • Draws upon multiple projects or literature to analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
    • Contributes to Living Labs external communication efforts by effectively delivering written and oral presentations clearly, concisely, and logically to internal and external audiences.
    • Oversees reports/ deliverables processes within assigned projects/ activities.
    • Leads the process of developing project timelines and workplans in coordination with operations staff
    • Aligns current work and activities with PATH’s, P&I’s and Living Labs strategy.
    • Contributes to business development
    • Supervise a multi-disciplinary team of design and innovation leads, specialists and other expertise as may be assigned for key project activities to support landscaping, measurement, commercialization, and advocacy.
    • Promote adherence to IRB and regulatory approvals; monitor, manage local submissions/ updates, and communicate any potential or real violations of IRB and PATH protocols

    Required Experience

    • A minimum of six years’ experience in human-centered design, behavior change, user experience, design, especially for the health sector.
    • A minimum of four years’ experience managing design teams and coordinating activities
    • Demonstrated experience working with teams and design challenges that spread across cultures, especially multiple country settings
    • Versatile and responsive working virtually with remote teams.
    • Ability to engage users and collaborators through virtual tools
    • Comfortable with working openly and transparently, sharing works-in-progress, failures, successes, and lessons-learned.
    • Creative and curious.
    • Voracious learner.
    • Passionate about addressing health issues in low-resource settings.
    • Receptive to and values open and honest feedback from colleagues and stakeholders.
    • Independent thinker that takes initiative.
    • A Masters’ degree in a relevant field such as design, product development, social science is preferred or Bachelors’ degree with significant experience.
