Associate Professor/ Professor in Counselling Psychology (1 Position) at United States International University - USIU Africa

Job Summary:

The successful candidates will be reporting to the Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) and will be expected to teach, conduct research and engage in service performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach at undergraduate and graduate level in the specific areas of specialization as listed above.
• Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
• Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure that the programs are up-to-date and marketable.
• Participate in program assessment and reviews.
• Supervise students’ research (projects/ thesis/ dissertations) at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Engage in research in one’s area of expertise.
• Engage in service to the University, the profession and to the community.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Associate Professor

1. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area from an accredited University.
2. At least 3 years’ teaching/research experience at the university level as a Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor or Senior Research Fellow.
3. At least forty-eight (48) publication points as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow/
4. Assistant Professor as per the CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014, of which thirty-two (32) should be from referred scholarly journals.
5. Supervised at least five (5) postgraduate students to completion, including one doctoral student.
6. Attracted research funds as a Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor or Senior Research Fellow.

Professor

• A Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area from an accredited University.
• At least 3 years’ teaching and research experience since being appointment at the rank of Associate Professor/Associate Research Professor.
• At least sixty (60) equivalent publication points as per the CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014 of which at least forty (40) should be from referred scholarly journals since attaining Associate Professorship.
• Supervised at least six (6) postgraduate students to completion, two of whom must be doctoral students.
• Attracted research funds since attaining the rank of Associate Professor.
