Billing Officer at Sonar Imaging Center

Role Description

• We are seeking a professional, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Billing Officer to join our team. The Billing Officer will play an important role in ensuring that patients have a seamless experience from entry to exit by providing accurate information on services, pricing, and invoicing, while efficiently managing cash and insurance payments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patients with accurate and clear information regarding services, pricing, payments, and billing procedures.
• Prepare and process accurate patient bills for diagnostic imaging services.
• Ensure all services provided are correctly captured and billed.
• Verify patient details, requested services, applicable charges and payment requirements before billing.
• Receive and accurately process cash, card, mobile money, insurance, and other approved payments.
• Process insurance payments and ensure required documentation is complete and accurate.
• Issue accurate receipts and maintain proper payment documentation.
• Respond professionally and promptly to patient billing and payment queries.
• Assist with daily billing and payment reconciliations.
• Identify and escalate billing errors, missing charges, payment discrepancies, and other issues.
• Maintain accurate billing and payment records and ensure confidentiality of patient and financial information.
• Provide a professional and courteous experience to patients throughout the billing process.
• Adhere to Sonar Imaging Centre’s billing procedures, financial controls, and service standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Health Records, or an equivalent qualification.
• CPA Part II or equivalent accounting qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a healthcare environment.
• Basic understanding of billing, financial transactions, and payment reconciliation.
