    Business Development Officer, Business Clients

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Engage New to Bank (NTB) clients via leads sources like Supplier & Buy ecosystem, Alliances, Targeted lists and store catchment with full range of Business Clients products; Also handle client-led requests via ATL/ online pull.
    • Actively engage with the NTB client during the first 3 months (New Client on boarding) to activate & get the client transacting, (payments & Collections), set up and educate clients on remote channel usage i.e. online, mobile, Client Centre & ATM.

    Existing to Bank

    • Acquire and activate new clients from Existing to Bank (ETB) clients referrals/ ETB database
    • Acquire Business Clients (BC) approaching bank via online
    • Acquire BC clients approaching bank (other channels)
    • Acquire BC clients from Alliances
    • Acquire BC clients from other lead sourcing channels
    • Actively engaging BC clients during the first 3 months (New BC client on-boarding)

    Strategy

    • Acquire Business Banking Client with a vintage of above 3 years
    •  Acquire Business Banking Clients within the Annual Turnover of Kes 120M to 5B

    Business

    • BC Client base
    • BC product Holding
    • Revenues, Asset and Liabilities of BC business at country and regional level
    • Image and reputation of department and the Bank

    Processes

    Ensure that the Anti-Money Laundering requirements are followed as follows: -

    • Ensure all reasonable steps are taken to verify the identify customers.
    • Retain adequate records of identification, account opening and transactions
    • Make prompt reports of suspicious transactions (STR) and suspicious activities (SAR) using the right internal channels
    • Maintain raised awareness of Anti-Money Laundering prevention by attending all staff /attending training sessions, through eLearning or any material updates provided by the Bank
    • Ensure zero operation loss and effective complaint management
    • Ensure strict compliance and responsible for achieving and maintaining satisfactory audit 

    Risk Management

    • Ensure meeting clients requirements while ensuring compliance with regulations and controls set by the bank and external regulatory authorities by all staff
    • Read, understand and comply with all provisions of the Group Code of Conduct
    • Sound knowledge of all aspects of general banking, retail operations and credit operations/deposit and lending products/inspection and audit requirements as applicable
    • Scanning of customers application forms on FileNet and EOPs through Africa scan solutions

    • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

    • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

    • New to Bank Clients

    QUALIFICATIONS

    TRAINING, LICENSES, MEMBERSHIPS AND CERTIFICATIONS

    • First degree and requisite technical skills gained through professional associations and practical experience (2-5 years’ experience)
    • Good working knowledge of banking products
