    Capacity Building Officer

    JOB SUMMARY

    EPN is an International non-profit Christian member organization registered in Kenya. Its mission is to support Churches and Church Health Systems, provide and promote just and compassionate quality pharmaceutical services. EPN is a global church-based organization that works specifically to increase access to medicines and to strengthen pharmaceutical services. The beneficiaries of EPN’s services include church health institution, medicines policy makers, health professionals, church leaders, and health staff involved in medicines management and pharmaceutical service delivery.

    The Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network is looking for a Projects Officer to assist in the implementation of the Scholarship Project and the E-learning platform with the Support of the Programme Officer.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Manage the implementation of program activities in line with project agreements:

    • Participate in and help lead project kick-off meetings with member partners (where candidates are to be selected from) and their respective relevant contacts
    • Co-ordinate the advertisement, application and awarding process for all prospective scholarship candidates.
    • Co-ordinate the formation of the selection committee and the planning of assessment meetings.
    • Monitor progress of activities against planned achievements, outcomes and impact; evaluate the continued relevance and appropriateness of the intervention.
    • Manage budget lines for program activities ensuring appropriate spend.
    • Ensure that the progress reports and relevant donor reports are timely, of high quality and serve to inform management decisions.
    • Resolve issues that arise during the engagement cycle, updating the Programme Officer on key concerns.
    • Ensure all documentation is properly indexed and filed for records.
    • With guidance from Other key staff, ensure supporting partner members are aware of Project guidelines and policies and that these are adhered to at all times.
    • Develop the accompanying Programme to support scholarship beneficiaries in developing and implementing initiative works in their respective communities during their studies.
    • Catalyze experience sharing among Fellows from different EPN members’ countries.
    • Mobilize alumnus of past scholarship phases to participate in international forum initiatives to share their professional growth and impact in the provision of pharmaceutical services.
    • Co-ordinate and participate in all monitoring activities of the students

    Online learning Platform Project Support:

    • Serve as instructor for the EPN owned courses and manage subscriptions
    • With the support of the Project Officer and Executive Director, develop a capacity building plan based on the analysis of the needs assessment and discussions with participants on the online training platform.
    • Ensure that all necessary materials/courses are uploaded and successful training sessions are conducted in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that all required training courses are continuously updated.
    • Provide an on-going support to the EPN members by creating Capacity Building and TA opportunities, coaching and/or mentoring sessions.
    • Assist partners and other Programme staff to strategize ways to ensure program delivery meets targets or adjust work plans accordingly.
    • Ensure proper documentation of all training sessions, keep track of the attendance sheets, training reports, action plans and training tracker.
    • Perform any other duties as instructed by the Executive Director

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or any related Capacity Building field
    • Min 5 years’ relevant experience in either Change Management in the Health Care sector or in Public Health would be an added advantage
    • Strong experience in technical writing, ideally with experience in a health-related field.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team.
    • Ability to multi-task, with tight deadlines/schedules and attention to detail.
    • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with proven ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with a wide range of multi-disciplinary stakeholders, including medicines manufacturers and suppliers.
    • Proven effective communication skills in English, both in written and orally. Proficiency in French writing/speaking would be an added advantage
    • Highly developed Skills in Microsoft Office/Google, email, and Internet navigation are required.
    • Experience in LMS management would be an added advantage.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Willingness to undertake international travels.
