    KP Clinical Officer

    Overall Job Function

    Reporting to the Key Populations Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of clinical services at the Key Populations Drop-in Centre and the community.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Screening and treatment for STI to clients in  a Key Populations friendly environment
    • Ensure family planning services are offered to Key Populations
    • Ensure promotion, demonstration of correct use, and distribution of condoms
    • Provide Post Exposure Prophylaxis for rape survivors
    • Ensure HIV positive Key Populations are enrolled in care and treatment and follow up on treatment outcomes
    • Ensure facilitation of health education sessions on various topics to Key populations
    • Ensure provision or referral of KPs for risk assessment and risk reduction counseling
    • Ensure functional Intra and inter-facility/community referral system for KP services that are not available within the DICE or during outreaches
    • Collect client data and store it appropriately

    Person Specification

    • Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery from a recognised medical training institution
    • Be registered with the clinical officers’ council with a valid practicing license
    • At least 2 year’s experience working with Key populations
    • Certificate in HIV management and skills in cervical cancer screening is an added advantage
    • Ability to provide services in a friendly and non-judgmental attitude
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven team player attributes
    • Computer literacy in the use of MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is desired
    • Ability to work and deliver results with minimum supervision.
