Tana River County is one of the forty seven (47) counties in the Republic of Kenya. The County takes its name from River Tana which is the longest river in Kenya. It is a County in the former Coast Province, Kenya with an area of 35,375.8 square kilometers (13,658.7 sq mi) and a population of 262,684 according to the 2012 census.

Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this position, a candidate MUST:
- be a Kenyan Citizen;
- be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
- have knowledge and experience of at least five (5) years in matters relating to investment,
- business, finance and accounts or law;
- have a distinguished career in the field; and
- have the ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and
- respect for diversity
