    Charging Network Product Manager

    The Product Manager will own the charging user experience, manage charging partnerships, define product specifications, and operationalization of digital tools to meet BasiGo’s mission and business objectives. The role requires a versatile, digital product leader with skills that span systems engineering, product marketing, finance, and data analysis. Most importantly, it requires an independent, entrepreneurial thinker who can jump seamlessly between strategy and implementation, who understands the dynamic EV and energy storage value chains, and who knows how African transport and energy markets work in order to build product and business models that can succeed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Integrate cross-functional input to design and manage a seamless and cohesive charging experience for all end users, including hardware and user interface specification, payment and data management, and sales and support processes.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of trends and dynamics in electric vehicle charging, energy generation and management, and energy supply value chains.
    • Research trends in EV adoption and deployment as well as charging customer needs and preferences in order to help BasiGo develop an industry leading EV charging service.
    • Conduct market and industry research to develop and execute a data-driven pricing and network expansion strategy.
    • Identify and develop new revenue generation opportunities leveraging the expanding BasiGo charging network and fleet operation.
    • Negotiate, manage, and expand both existing and new partnerships throughout the EV charging value chain.
    • Monitor economic and technical performance of the charging network.
    • Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape and update the position of BasiGo's offering relative to diesel and electric-powered competition in the market. 
    • Facilitate internal buy-in and decision making around charging strategy. 

    Our ideal candidate would have:

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
    • 4+ years of experience working in Product Management in distributed digital technology, particularly EV or energy sectors.
    • Demonstrated experience with complex techno-economic modeling in the energy or transport sectors
    • Experience managing technology business relationships with suppliers and partners.
    • Working knowledge of financial modeling and end user financing structures.
    • Understanding of energy and transport markets and regulatory frameworks.
    • Experience with analysis and visualization of technical, operational, and financial data.
    • Experience with both end user customer research and internet based market research.
    • Experience with best practice in the process of new product development and commercialization for both hardware and software products
