    Chief Communication Officer (1 Position)

    REF: KECOBO/EXT/2023

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • An officer at this level will be responsible to the Assistant Executive Director, Communications and will:
    • Conduct in liaison with Legal department, public awareness programmes and marketing initiatives;
    • Implement media relations and corporate social responsibility programs;
    • Monitor public perception of the Board;
    • Implement customer survey recommendations;
    • Develop branding materials for KECOBO’s events for positive corporate image and publicity;
    • Analyze customer feedback, information and communications;
    • Handle public complaints;
    • Prepare and manage marketing and branding events on behalf of the Board;
    • Develop and monitor networks with stakeholders, donors, sponsors and partners in the Copyright Industry;
    • Design and develop IEC publications and materials (documentaries) on Copyright and related rights; and 
    • Nurture networks and partnerships with external stakeholders. 

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    • Served at least three years as a Senior Communications Officer;
    • Master’s Degree in Communications/Marketing/ot its equivalent from a recognized institution;
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Mass Communications/Public Relations/Marketing or Humanities from a recognized institution;
    • Be a member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) in good standing;
    • Certificate of Leadership course lasting not less than (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Good writing skills;
    • Computer proficiency; and 
    • Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence in communication, management and administrative capability in performance and results.
