Commercial Health & Safety Manager at Diageo

Purpose of Role:

To positively influence sales of KBL brands by regular contact, networking and motivation of allocated distributor accounts. To ensure the sales team under them is delivering an optimized brand portfolio of both beer and spirits in each outlet across the Area s/he is managing.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities

1. Proactive training programmed to ensure the safety of the sales teams on the roads. i.e. ensure all users of fleet are trained in defensive driving.
2. Investigate all accidents and near misses and make recommendations to the Head of commercial operations and sales director on way forward.  
3. Drive Occupational health & Safety at distributor sites.
4. Ensure all events are risk assessed and are following all the health and safety guidelines.

Fleet management.

1. Procurement, lease management.
2. Daily management of fleet through the regional commercial performance management.
3. Daily monitoring of driving & safety trends through fleet reports and SIRC cards, and follow up for corrective measures.
4. Success Measures

Zero LTA Improve scores on rate of accidents per division. Distributor sites pass government occupational safety audits. (OSHA).

Qualifications

1. Bachelors degree.
2. Nebosh International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
3. Training in Environment and OHS law and management.

Experience

1. 5 years’ experience in a similar environment
2. Experience in OHS management disciplines, incident investigation and route cause analysis, dealing with external authorities and managing/coordinating within a multi-site and multi-cultural environment.
3. Experience in driving safety performance of the Business Unit to minimize risks, maximize opportunities and enhance reputation for the system.  Special focus on occupational safety and health practices
