    Communication & Fundraising Officer

    JOB PURPOSE

    • Under the general supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager, the current primary objective of this role is to develop, implement, and manage a strategic fundraising plan to support the establishment of the wellness centre, ensuring a sustainable financial future of the organization programs and services. In the long-term, the objective of the role is to grow and sustain the institution's donor base both local and international, establish clear internal and external channels of communication, moderate all communication going out to stakeholders and generally help improve and maintain the positive image of the institution.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fundraising Strategy Development:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans, goals and strategies to achieve the fundraising target for the establishment of the Wellness Centre.
    • Research/Identify, analyze and reach out to potential funding sources, including grant-making organizations, private sector partners, and individual donors.
    •  Maintain and update the fundraising and communications budgets, with the Finance & Administration Manager

    Proposal Development:

    • Research, write and submit compelling grant proposals, concepts and pitches to secure funding from trusts, foundations, corporations and individuals.
    • Collaborate with Projects Manager and Finance Manager to gather necessary information and data to strengthen proposals.

    Donor Engagement:

    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospective donors and corporate partners while all the while keeping the Management Team in copy.
    • Develop and implement donor stewardship plans to recognize and appreciate contributions.

    Campaigns and Event Management:

    • Plan, organize, coordinate, and execute fundraising campaigns, events, including online/web- based fundraising through social media, galas, auctions, direct mail and walks.
    • Assess the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.
    • Maintain and update donor databases, track fundraising progress, and analyze data to measure effectiveness.

    Networking and Relationship Building:

    • Whenever appropriate, represent the company at community and networking events to raise awareness and attract potential donors.
    • Build partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders. 6. Marketing and Communication:
    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote fundraising efforts and engage with donors.
    • Create promotional materials for fundraising initiatives (brochures, social media posts, newsletters, etc.).
    • Manage online presence related to fundraising activities and campaigns.
    • Raise awareness of the organization its service, successes and plans (With emphasis on the Wellness Centre), in the local community and through both social media and the local press.

    Reporting and Budgeting:

    • Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and donor contributions.
    • Prepare bi-weekly and/or monthly reports for Management and other stakeholders on fundraising progress and outcomes.

    JOB SPECIFICATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
    • Proven experience (minimum of 3 years) in fundraising for non-profit organizations.
    • Experience in event planning and mobilization.
    • Experience in charitable construction project financing.
    • Strong understanding of grant-writing processes and donor relations.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Legal or accounting experience a plus
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
