Communications Consultant (Nairobi) at Nobel Women’s Initiative

ROLE DESCRIPTION 

In collaboration with the Communications and Partnership the consultant will: 

• Advise on communications strategy.  
• Direct outreach to media and coordinate with local, national regional and international media securing media outputs and coverage based on strategy, list of contacts and agreed messaging.  
• Organize a high-level press conference and media interviews for Nobel laureates and participants of the Rooted & Rising convening, including liaising with the location, taking care of invitations etc.  
• Provide preparatory briefings on media.  
• Deliver a media and outreach impact report after the event. 

Requirements: 

• At least 3 years of broad communications experience.
• Experience working with the media and strong relationships with local, national, and regional journalists/media. 
• Fluent in Swahili and English.   
• Solid understanding of the media landscape in Kenya and the region.  
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Availability to participate in relevant convening activities (such as a press conference) between 1–5 March 2026. 
• Based in Nairobi.
