Compliance Officer KNC 7 – 1 POST at Kenya National Commission for UNESCO

Functions

• The officer, communication and information officers are responsible for the following functions: 
• develop and coordinate the Commission’s Risk Management and Coordination policy 
• framework; 
• facilitate identification and evaluation of risks in liaison with other Programmes, Departments 
• and Divisions; 
• mainstream Enterprise Risk Management in all Programmes, Departments and Divisions; 
• develop and implement the Commission’s Corporate Risk Management Plan; 
• conduct and prepare periodic monitoring and evaluation reports on the status of 
• implementation of the Risk Management and Coordination framework; 
• initiate, develop and implement policies and procedures on quality assurance for operational 
• efficiency; 
• identify appropriate quality management standards to be adopted by the Commission; 
• develop and report on implementation of quality management systems in all Programmes, 
• Departments and Divisions; 
• coordinate the maintenance of the quality management standards across the Commission; 
• identify and implement business process reengineering initiatives; 
• develop and implement an intellectual property policy framework; 
• disseminate and sensitize on intellectual property policy and management in the Commission; 
• identify and implement control mechanisms for the Commission’s intellectual property 
• framework; and any other duties as may be assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• implementing the Commission’s internal policies, regulations, Guidelines and strategies; 
• identifying and evaluating risks in liaison with other Programmes, Departments and Divisions; 
• preparing periodic monitoring and evaluation reports on the status of implementation of the risk 
• management and coordination framework; 
• monitoring and reporting on implementation of adopted quality management systems; 
• reporting on implementation of quality management systems in all Programmes, Departments and 
• Divisions; 
• identifying business process reengineering initiatives; 
• reporting on implementation of the Commission’s intellectual property policy framework; 
• identifying control mechanisms for the Commission’s intellectual property framework; 
• any other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements for appointment

• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Economics or related disciplines from a recognized institution; 
• diploma in any of the following disciplines: Risk Management, Intellectual Property, Strategic 
• Management, Business Management of relate disciplines from a recognized institution; 
• proficiency in computer applications; and
• meets the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
