    Manager, Finance and Accounts KNC 4 – 1 POST

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Participating in stakeholder’s management through regular and proactive engagement with relevant 
    • business partners to ensure sustainable partnership; 
    • Developing and install effective financial management systems and procedures aimed at improving 
    • financial reporting and accounting through effective accounting for member contributions and 
    • payment of claims to health service providers; 
    • developing and ensuring uniform implementation of accounting policies across the head office and 
    • branch offices; 
    • assessing, managing, and minimizing financial risk by ensuring sufficient internal controls are in place; 
    • planning and coordinate the timely preparation of monthly and quarterly reports and estimates as well 
    • as outlining key activities to be undertaken to achieve desired targets; 
    • analyzing and reporting quarterly and annual reports on financial performance to the board of 
    • management; 
    • coordinating banking services, reconciliation and custody of funds, securities and financial 
    • instruments as well as preparing reports which summarize and forecast financial position in areas of

    Requirements for appointment

    • At least 10 years’ work experience with a minimum of 5 years at senior management level; 
    • Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Business Administration preferably in Finance/
    • Accounting or equivalent qualifications from a recognized University or institution; 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Business management (Finance or 
    • Accounting option) or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; 
    • certified public accountant CPA (K) or ACCA (UK) or equivalent qualification.

    Deputy Director, Research and Consultancy: KNC 4 -1 POST

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Compiling research reports of the programmes to ensure standards; 
    Formulating research and development proposals for conceptualization and initialization of the 
    identified research priority areas; 
    Carrying out situational analysis of the key priority areas for research in the UNESCO areas of 
    competence; 
    Identifying and facilitate expression of interest for consultancy opportunities, both locally and

    Functions

    • The information and communication technology officers are responsible for the following functions:
    • Oversee development and implementation of the Commission’s ICT policy; 
    • Champion innovation and effectively manage the implementation of new initiatives;

    • Oversee installation, configuration and maintenance of systems hardware, software and network

    Officer Research and Consultancy: KNC 7 -1 POST

    Functions

    • The Research and Consultancy officers are responsible for the following functions: 
    • Coordinate formulation and review of the Commission’s research strategy;
    • Establish key priority areas for research within a given financial year in liaison with various
