Consultancy- Proposal Writing Consultant (Roaster) at Action Against Hunger International

The Consultant is expected to:

1. Based on donor requirements, support in the coordination and compilation of all aspects of proposal development.
2. Read background information as needed to support development and fleshing out key interventions and activities as part of the technical approach.
3. Write the application, following written and verbal direction, technical inputs, and feedback provided by reviewers.
4. Coordinate, monitor and/or support in the completion of all sub-components of proposal as per the agreed timeframe.
5. Ensure drafts are responsive to proposal requirements and submitted in appropriate templates and formats.
6. Help to develop and/or provide input to other sections of the application as needed (annexes such as staffing plan, institutional capacity, budget narrative, etc).
7. Ensure that Key staff (including partners) have a clear understanding of donor compliance requirements during proposal development.
8. Ensure the coherence and technical quality of the overall proposal package prior to submission.
9. Support in consolidation of multi-country proposals ensuring consistency and coherence.
10. Ensure proper archiving of proposal packages following submission.

Required Competencies:

Essential

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in International Development, Business Management, Project Management, development studies or Social Studies or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant in country grant writing, business development, fundraising
• Prior demonstrated experience developing, coordinating and writing proposals for a wide range of institutional donors and foundations.
• Experience working with diverse donors i.e. EU, ECHO, GAC, SIDA, WFP, UNICEF, OCHA, UNDP, BMZ/GFFO, GIZ, USAID etc and an understanding of donor rules/regulations.
• Demonstrated skills organizing teams to produce high-quality proposals on a tight deadline.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Excellent planning and organizing skills.
• Ability to multitask, balancing and adapting to frequently changing priorities.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in the terms of reference.
