    Credit Officer

    Job Purpose:

    We are looking for a Credit Officer to join our team. The broader scope of this position entails collecting the needed financial documentation and assessing the clients' creditworthiness. You will also assist our Credit Admin Team Lead in calculating and analyzing the risk ratios of clients based on their credit score and financial history before extending goods on credit.

    Your Job Description Will Be:

    • Debt collection within the credit terms and collaboratively setting up payment plans with customers.
    • Account reconciliation - ensure that the accounts are reading the true and fair position at any given time.
    • Issue resolution - ensuring that all issues in terms of short deliveries, unallocated payments, and any complaints from customers are resolved within 48 hours.
    • Relationship management - providing superior customer experience by actively engaging all clients with feedback and information where necessary through phone calls, market visits, and gathering market insights.
    • Ensuring a thorough KYC process by conducting a verification exercise for all new clients and capture of relevant information in the organization’s system for decision-making.
    • Evaluating the creditworthiness of all Kasha customers before the issuance of goods.
    • Maintaining updated records of debtors and monitoring the progress of existing debts and tracking repayment.
    • Drafting demand letters for defaulters and compiling detailed weekly and monthly debtors reports.

    You Will Be Qualified For This Position If You:

    • A Business related degree or its equivalent from a recognized university and CPA 2 or its equivalent or CPA 2 and has satisfactorily served as a Credit Officer in an FMCG setup.
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
    • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to work with complicated financial data.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
    • Strong ethical behavior and the ability to work with sensitive financial information.
    • Strong communication skills and proven customer service experience.
    • Be a good negotiator.
    • Knowledgeable of laws that affect credit in Kenya.
