Role overview:

This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents while assisting in the implementation of robust security measures

Key Responsibilities:

• Threat Monitoring & Analysis: Continuously monitor security systems, logs, and alerts to identify and mitigate potential threats.
• Incident Response: Investigate, analyze, and respond to security breaches, ensuring rapid containment and resolution.
• Vulnerability Management: Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities across the IT infrastructure.
• Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, SOC 2).
• Collaboration with Security Engineer: Work closely with the Security Engineer to implement security tools, frameworks, and system hardening techniques.
• Security Awareness: Conduct training sessions and awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.
• Penetration Testing Support: Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities to strengthen organizational defenses.
• Security Documentation: Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and incident reports.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or IT security.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection, and security monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS Controls).
• Understanding of networking protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with scripting or automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, CISSP) are highly desirable.
