Plant Manager at Dawa Limited

The position:

As Plant Manager you are responsible for leading and managing our Production and Maintenance departments while ensuring maximum utilization of resources and process improvements to meet production targets to fulfil the sales requirements. You will be based in Nairobi and will report directly to the Managing Director.

Key responsibilities in the role would involve, but not limited to:

1. Leading and managing implementation of operations strategy
2. Coordinating of daily plant activities with other company stakeholders
3. Support and foster Operational Excellence across all functions including continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
4. Develop and execute Production, Maintenance and Operational Excellence plans
5. Ensuring product compliance with quality standards and specifications, upholding the correct current Good Manufacturing Practices in all sections
6. Following up and monitoring the maintenance activities considering production machines, facilities, and utilities.
7. Preparing and managing the production & maintenance budgets
8. Managing productivity through monitoring the availability and utilization of production machines, raw materials, and manpower
9. Familiarization and achievements to all processes, tools and technologies related to Production, Maintenance and Operational Excellence
10. Developing, training, motivating, and evaluating departmental staff

Criteria

• Minimum Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology
• +10 Years previous proven experience of leading pharmaceutical manufacturing site is mandated
• Exposure and hands-on different roles at different manufacturing disciplines (e. g. Production, Quality, Maintenance, Operational Excellence) is a definite plus
• Proficient knowledge of production controls
• Proficient computer skills
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal in English. Ability to communicate in Swahili is a plus.
• Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
• Personal Integrity is highly valued
• Fundamental understanding and application of Project Management skills
• Ability to collaborate and a result-oriented work ethic
