Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee physical development plans implementation, and evaluation in the County;
• Participates in preparation of departmental budgetary estimates and expenditure necessary to implement departmental work plans;
• Monitor and evaluate status of implementation of physical plans in the County;
• Prepare physical development plans, undertaking feasibility studies on physical, social, economic and environmental, characteristics;
• Implement physical plans for County, urban areas and cities;
• Process development applications from public and private clients;
• Maintain physical planning data and records;
• Vet development applications and record for approval;
• Advise government and private agencies on development policies and plans;
• Promote public sensitization and awareness on physical planning and development matters;
• Prepares survey annual work plan and budget.

 Requirement for appointment

• Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Spatial Planning or Town Planning;
• Masters in the relevant field will be an added advantage;
• At least six (6) years prior experience in Physical and Land Use Planning;
• Be a corporate member of Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya;
• Certificate in a senior management course not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution is an added advantage
• Knowledge and skills in Computer applications such as Geographical Information System (GIS) and AutoCAD;
• Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
