Deputy Director - Renewable Energy at Public Service Commission Kenya (PSCK)

For appointment to this grade an officer must have:

• served for a minimum period three years at the grade of Assistant Director, Renewable Energy, CSG 7;
• a Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: Energy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Forestry, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences or equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya; and
• good understanding of national goals, policies and objectives and the ability to
• translate them into renewable energy policies and programmes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• participating in formulation of energy policy and national strategy for development and promotion of renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency and conservation;
• interpreting and implementing Renewable Energy policies and regulations;
• collaborating in formulation and enforcement of standards and codes of practice for renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency and conservation;
• coordinating of private sector participation in production, distribution and marketing of renewable energy technologies;
• approving and directing feasibility studies on harnessing of renewable energy resources;
• undertaking project formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.;
• endorsing, packaging and dissemination of information on renewable energy systems.
