Deputy Sub County Administrator - 6 Positions at Turkana County Government

REF: TUR/CPSB/064/2022/2023: DEPUTY SUB COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR, JOB GROUP ‘P’, SIX (6) POSTS.

• The Deputy County Administrator will be responsible to Sub County Administrator

Duties and responsibilities:-

• Overseeing service delivery in the area of jurisdiction;
• Coordinating and facilitating citizen participation in the development of policies, plans and delivery of service;
• Facilitating inter-governmental relations and conflict resolution;
• Overseeing safe custody of county government asset in the area of jurisdiction;
• Coordinating and liaising with other directorates and departments in the area of jurisdiction;
• Ensuring compliance with legal, statutory and regulatory requirement in the area of jurisdiction;
• Liaising with relevant stakeholders to organize public fora on development and review of policies, strategies and guidelines;
• Ensuring compliance with national values and principles of good governance, and
• Enhancing administrative capacity for effective functions and governance at the local level;
• Identification of development projects;
• Dissemination of information to the Public;
• lProviding linkages between the office and the community;
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements and competencies for appointment:

For appointment in this grade, a candidate must have: -

• Serve in the grade of Principal Administration Officer/Deputy Principal Ward Administrator for a period of a minimum period of three (3) years or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
• Bachelor degree in any of the following discipline; Public Administration, Business Administration /Management, Community Development or any other related field from recognized institution;
• Master’s degree in any of the following; Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Community Development any other Social Science from recognized institution will be added advantage;
• Diploma in advanced Public Administration or equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding for national goals, policies, objectives and the ability to relate them to the administration function.
