Director Agricultural Mechanization Services at Uasin Gishu County Government

Requirements for appointment 

• A degree in Agriculture Engineering or other related field from a recognized University ; 
• Master’s Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage
• Have knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than Seven (7) years, three (3) 
• of which must have been at Senior Management level in the Public Service or Private Sector;
• Member of Relevant Professional Organization.
• Having undergone management and leadership course of not less than four weeks from a 
• recognized institution will be an added advantage; 
• Successful applicant to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on 
• Leadership and Integrity;

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide the overall administration and management of the AMS. 
• Provide direction and leadership for AMS staff
• Coordinate mechanization projects and programs 
• Oversee the mobilization of resources for development of the station from available local development funds 
• Prepare and implement performance contracts 
• Implement the National Agricultural Mechanization Strategy (NAMS) at the county, 
• Build capacity, Collaboration and backstopping on mechanization technologies in Liaison with all key stakeholders. 
• Participate in stakeholder forums, field days, open days, exhibitions and shows. 
• Examine and approve all plans and designs of various construction works prior to actual implementation by the mechanization manager and field superintendents,
• Coordinating preparation of work plans and budgets; and Periodic Reports
