    Director, Information, Advocacy and Communication

    REF. NO. NuPEA/DIAC/01/01/2025

    The Position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in conducting public education and awareness of Kenya’s Nuclear Power programme and corporate communications.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Formulate and implement programs to raise awareness of the Agency’s mandate and advocate for nuclear power development through strategic partnerships and public engagement.
    • Guide the planning and execution of stakeholder meetings, forums, and sensitization activities to promote awareness of Kenya’s nuclear power program.
    • Develop and maintain local and international partnerships with media and private organizations to enhance public advocacy and communication efforts.
    • Oversee the Agency’s corporate branding, brand positioning, publications, and messaging strategies to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
    • Manage the development and maintenance of the Agency’s web presence, digital marketing efforts, and content strategy across websites, apps, and social media platforms.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    Applicants must posses the following minimum qualifications:

    • Hold a Master’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Media Studies or any other relevant field from a recognized university;
    • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Media Studies or any other relevant field from a recognized university;
    • Must have at least twelve (12) years relevant work experience with at least eight (8) years in a senior management position; and
    • Be a member of Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) or a relevant professionalbody in good standing; and
    • Certificate in leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.

    Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

    • Meets the requirements of leadership and integrity set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution;
    • Demonstrable Knowledge of Corporate Governance/ Leadership/ Strategic Management;
    • Demonstrable Knowledge of Stakeholder Engagement across diverse groups;
    • Demonstrable knowledge of the Energy Sector in Kenya;
    • Demonstrable knowledge of the Nuclear Power Programme; and
    • Demonstrable understanding of public Service Values.

    Terms of Service and Renumeration

    The appointment is for a period of five (5) years renewable once subject to satisfactory performance and delivery of set performance targets. NuPEA offers salary and benefits consistent with scales approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

    Shortlisted candidates will be expected to present the following clearance Certificates to fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and the Leadership and Integrity Act, 2012:

    • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority.
    • Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board.
    • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
    • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
    • Clearance from an approved Credit Reference Bureau.
