Terms of Service: 3 Years Contract
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must:
Be a Kenyan Citizen;
Have served in the grade of Senior Assistant Director/ Deputy Director of Physical Planning or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Private for a minimum of three (3) years;
Have Master’s degree in Urban, Regional planning or Town from recognised institution;
Have Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning from a recognized institution;
Be a corporate member of the Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter);
Be registered by the Physical Planners Registration Board;
Certificate in strategic Leadership and Development Programme (SLDP) lasting not less than Six (6) weeks from a recognized institution;
Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution;
Proven administrative ability and professional competence necessary for effective performance of work at this level;
Demonstrated managerial and professional competence in work performance and exhibited a thorough understanding of National Policies, Goals and Objectives and ability to relate them to physical Planning function.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:
Coordinating key result areas such as Planning and Management of key Government projects and new towns;
Planning and implementation of urban areas, towns and metropolitans;
Metropolitan planning and implementation;
County and inter–County Planning and Regional Planning and development control;
Overseeing formulation of physical planning manuals, standards and guidelines for the County;
Coordinating research on matters relating to strategic County and National projects and programmes, human settlement patterns, urbanization patterns, urban sprawl, emerging methodologies issues a and trends;
