    Editorial of a Compendium on Emerging and Comparative Jurisprudence on the Right To Health

    ICJ Kenya is implementing a project titled ‘Unpacking Health Rights for Accountability to facilitate Access to Health Services in Kenya.’ The project’s overall objective is to improve access to health services at Kenyans’ national and county levels. The project will utilise innovative approaches to effectively involve and include all relevant stakeholders in the health sector to address policy, legal gaps, and challenges that impede access to healthcare services.

    Thus, ICJ Kenya invites expressions of interest from experts for consideration as a technical and content editor for the compendium on Emerging and Comparative Jurisprudence on the Right to Health. The compendium captures experiences from different jurisdictions and provides a platform for analysing the right to health while interrogating its jurisprudential underpinnings across the varying jurisdictions.

    PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY

    The Consultant will provide technical expertise in editing the research papers from the various jurisdictions, which will form the compendium on emerging and comparative jurisprudence in the right to health.

    SCOPE OF WORK

    The Consultant will review and offer expert opinion on the content and editorial of the publication of the researched articles submitted by the contributing writers on the right to health. These will include analysing the content of the articles, verifying the authenticity of the information provided by the contributing writers, ensuring coherence, and correcting all typographical errors and use of language.

    EXPECTED OUTPUTS

    The deliverables of the task shall be the following:

    1. Edited and reviewed papers from the contributing writers;
    2. The final compiled and reviewed chapters.

    DURATION OF THE PROJECT

    The duration of the assignment is one calendar month commencing after signing the contract documents.

    MANAGEMENT OF THE ASSIGNMENT

    The Consultant will work closely with the project focal persons at ICJ Kenya.

    EXPECTED PROFILES OF THE CONSULTANT(S)

    1. Education – Master’s degree in health governance, social sciences, law, or any other relevant field
    2. Satisfactory work experience with the public sector, particularly proven work experience in health governance issues.
    3. Proven track record in editorial services and publication of scholarly articles
    4. Skills set – Proven excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
    5. Possess a good track record as a reliable Consultant.
