    Education Officer - EiE (P-2), PG

    • Under the supervision of the Education in Emergencies (EiE) Specialist, the Education Officer will implement a variety of technical and programme tasks to demonstrate UNICEF’s global role in EiE with key stakeholders. This will be done through supporting programme monitoring and reporting; knowledge management; and global communication of programme results including best practices.

    How can you make a difference?
    Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results

    • Work closely and collaboratively with internal colleagues and partners to collect, analyze and share information on EIE specifically related to L3 and L2 Emergencies for higher-level intervention and/or decisions. Keep record of reports and assessments for easy reference and/or to capture and institutionalize lessons learned.
    • Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, programme reviews and annual reviews and prepare minutes/reports on results for follow up action by higher management and other stakeholders.
    • Support to EIE Annual Results Reporting of Country Office Annual Reports/Consolidated Emergency Reports
    • Draft inputs for programme/donor reporting as needed.
    • Research information on potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials and briefs for fund raising and partnership development purposes. Specifically, update tracking database on EiE Humanitarian Action for Children requirements 2024 and support the development of a resource mobilisation strategy for Education Preparedness and Anticipatory Action

    Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

    • Contribute to identifying, capturing, synthesizing, and sharing lessons learned for knowledge development and promote good practice to support the implementation and delivery of concrete and sustainable programme results.
    • Research and report on best and cutting-edge practices for development planning of knowledge products and systems.
    • Participate/support capacity building initiatives to enhance the competencies of clients/stakeholders.
    • Draft/update communication and information materials for EiE programme advocacy at key events such as the Global Refugee Forum (GRF) to promote awareness, share best practices, and support fund raising for education programmes globally.
    • Working with Country Offices draft high quality case studies/blog posts on scalable learning solutions in EiE settings
    • Update relevant EiE websites – refresh look & feel, update copy and lay out, integrate updated resources etc

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

    • A university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology or other relevant disciplines is required.
    • A minimum of two years professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
    • Strong interpersonal skills are desired,
    • Technical knowledge management, communication and coordination skills is an asset.
    • Strong creative drive to create opportunities and focus on solutions is an asset.
    • Experience working in a developing/humanitarian country is considered as an asset.
    • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
    • Previous experience working in the field of Education in Emergencies is an asset
    • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, French or Spanish) is an asset.
