    Environment and Solid Waste Management - Casual Workers / General Labourers – 1,500 Posts

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collecting waste and debris removed from drains;
    • Loading waste and debris onto designated County/contracted waste trucks;
    • Sweeping and cleaning immediate work areas;
    • Preventing extracted waste from returning to drainage systems; and
    • Supporting transportation of waste to approved disposal, recovery or temporary handling facilities.
    • Waste Collection and evacuation teams will operate under the technical supervision of the
    • Department of Environment and waste Management.

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Be 18 years of age or above.
    • Possess a valid National Identity Card.
    • Possess an Artisan Certificate or other relevant qualification or Possess KCSE Certificate and/or KCPE Certificate.
    • Be physically and mentally able to undertake the assigned duties, including outdoor and physically demanding work.
    • Be willing to work in any designated location within Mombasa County.
    • Be available for the duration of the temporary engagement and comply with theinstructions of designated supervisors.
    • Persons with disabilities should provide relevant documentation confirming their disability, where applicable.

    The program will prioritize:

    • Flood-prone areas
    • Major storm-water drainage corridors
    • Road crossings and culverts
    • Low-lying areas
    • Drainage outlets
    • Roads and public spaces
    • Markets, and
    • Other identified environmental hotspots.
