Environment Officer at Siaya County Government

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning and coordination of all environmental and natural resources programmes, projects and activities in the Sub-county
• Responsible for liaison with all stakeholders and players in environmental and natural resources conservation, development and management in the Sub-county
• Responsible for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all environmental and naturals resources programmes and projects in the Sub-county
• Responsible for analysis and presentation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports or any other reports as may be required by the Director of Environment and Natural Resources from his/her Sub-county
• Responsible for dissemination of best practices in environmental and natural resources conservation and management in the Sub-county
• Responsible for enforcement of noise pollution control regulations in the Sub-county
• Responsible for ensuring effective and efficient integrated solid waste management in the Subcounty
• Responsible for coordination of research in environment and natural resources conservation management and development in the Sub-county
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Officer Water, Environment and Natural Resources or Director of Environment and Natural Resources or any other office in seniority

Requirements for Appointment

• Must be a Kenyan Citizen
• Bachelor of Science in the in the following disciplines: Forestry/ Environmental Science/ Natural Resources Management or other relevant and equivalent qualification from an institution recognized in Kenya.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
• Registration with FSK or its equivalent professional body
• Computer applications certificate
