Exhibition Intern at Kenya Association of Manufacturers

Department: KAM Consulting Unit
Reporting to: Business Development Assistant Officer
Supervises: None

Contract Type: 3 Months contract

Job Purpose: To support KAM consulting unit to organize and manage KAM Expos which include mobilizing exhibitors, participants, and sponsors oftheKAM Exposwith expected outcomes as follows: -

Key Objectives

1. Selling of exhibition booths and mobilization of sponsors
2. Ensure an average target number of visitors attend the events.
3. Ensure the targeted number of exhibitors display their products or services during the expo;

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Sell exhibition booths to KAM members to showcase their products;
2. Recruit exhibition sponsors in cash or in-kind to fund expo activities;
3. Meeting with clients virtually or during sales visits
4. Making the Changamka Festival presentation to KAM members
5. Maintaining accurate records and an up-to-date database
6. Working towards the monthly and overall project targets
7. Enhance the Sales Bonanza strategy to ensure value for money to KAM members;
8. Liaise with KAM members to increase participation in the Expo;
9. Debt collection from Exhibitors and sponsors to ensure all obligations are met;
10. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Requirements and Personal Attributes:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
2. Experience in Marketing and Communication fields is an added advantage
3. Good selling Skills
4. Organizational skills, team player, keen attention to details and ability to multitask.
5. Good relationship management and networking skills
6. Excellent presentation & negotiation skills
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
8. The ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines in a busy environment
