Farm Production Supervisor at Christ Is the Answer Ministries

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the day-to-day running of farm activities including crop and animal production.
• Prepare reports and up to date accurate records that pertain to the Animal and Livestock Production and Management.
• Develop standard operating procedures for all units within the farm.
• Oversee plantings and crop management including use of IPM / ICM method in production of crops.
• Ensure proper crop scouting is carried out on a daily basis and proactive measures of control are put in place.
• Ensure sufficient requisition of all necessary farm inputs and follow up on procurement through the appropriate chain of command.
• Oversee proper handling of animals and provision of healthy animal feed production from the farm and supplement where necessary.
• Oversee maintenance of farm structures including proper farm hygiene and labelling according to standards.
• Ensure sufficient stock of all necessary farm inputs as per approved production schedule.
• Maintain an inventory of all farm machinery and equipment for crop and animal production.
• Ensure food and safety standards are adhered to in handling farm produce for sale.
• Lead the team in obtaining orders and maintaining high customer service and experience.
• Ensure payment of sales is made according to the set operating procedures.

Requirements

• Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
• Must be a holder of Diploma in Agriculture/ Horticulture with Five (5) years’ experience. A degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
• Short Courses in BASIS, IPM, Food Safety and Animal health will be an added advantage.
• Computer literacy and good command of English and Kiswahili.
• Ability to prepare budgets, production plans and write Board papers and reports.
• Understanding of food handling, fertigation systems, MRLs, and PHIs.
• Ability to operate basic farm machinery including animal and crop production machinery and equipment.
• Valid driving license.
