    Finance Controller - Oil & Gas

    Job Summary

    Our Client is looking to hire a Finance Controller to oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting, compliance with regulatory standards, and the implementation of strong internal controls. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and financial strategy to support business growth and sustainability within the oil and gas industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Accounting & Financial Operations: Manage all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, general ledger, and inventory accounting.
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish timely financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    • Month-End & Year-End Closing: Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial records.
    • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and periodic financial reports.
    • Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors for financial, compliance, and tax audits, ensuring adherence to local laws and industry regulations.
    • Internal Controls & Policies: Develop and implement accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
    • Financial Strategy & Advisory: Provide financial insights to support business decisions, cost control, and profitability improvements.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions to maintain strong financial governance.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 6+ years of combined experience in accounting and finance.
    • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is required.
    • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, and financial reporting.
    • Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and audits.
    • Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is an added advantage.
