We are seeking a dependable, forward-thinking finance leader who is passionate about driving business success to supervise the financial activities of the organization. This individual will oversee financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, taxation, and reporting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and offering strategic financial guidance to management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and policies to support the company's objectives and growth initiatives.
Formulate and oversee the implementation of budgets to ensure efficient allocation of resources. Analyse financial trends in the automotive industry and forecast future financial performance to inform strategic decisions.
Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts for management, shareholders, and regulatory bodies.
Utilise data analysis tools to gather insights and support decision-making processes.
Oversee the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial resources and mitigate risks.
Conduct financial analysis to assess the performance of the company’s operations and suggest improvements.
Analyse variances between actual and budgeted figures and investigate the reasons for discrepancies.
Monitor and analyse financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks and provide insights and recommendations to the management. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax laws, financial reporting standards, and other statutory obligations.
Control accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity in financial reporting.
Oversee insurance coverage to protect the organization’s assets.
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for the finance team.
Liaise with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Vendor Management - Negotiates and manages financial agreements with vendors and partners.
Implement and maintain financial management systems and software to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate with other departments, including operations, sales, and HR, to support crossfunctional initiatives and drive business results.
Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact the company's financial performance and strategy.
Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
An MBA or advanced degree would be an added advantage.
Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CFA are strongly preferred.
Experience
Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior finance role, with a track record of success in financial management, strategic planning, and leadership.
Key Skills
Solid technical knowledge of finance and accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
Experience with financial systems and ERP software; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
In-depth understanding of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and supply chain optimisation. Familiarity with industry-specific challenges and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Ability to adapt to different dynamic situations and environments.
High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
